A Khayelitsha girl aged 14, has been raped by four teenagers, while their friends watched and took pictures in what seemed to be a house of the victim’s friend . The grade seven primary school learner was walking when a boy she knew greeted her and then invited her to his home to watch some movies. They arrived at his house when she noticed the fourteen year old boy’s friends standing outside, but he assured her that he’s friends were not staying.

She got inside the house and the boy pushed her into the room and started undressing her, as his friends took pictures and video taped the excruciating episode. “Some were putting their finger in my private parts and swearing at me”, says the victim. The terribly violated girl’s grandmother was disgraced by the ruthless behaviour of the teenagers who lived in the area and knew the boys! The victim told the Daily Voice, “I felt pain all the time and I begged them to stop but he push me back and rape me”. The victims grandmother and her legal guardian also told the Daily Voice, “What worries me even further is that none of the boys’ parents had come to see me” .  The seventy-four grandmother saw the pictures of her granddaughter being raped and collapsed, she was then rushed to hospital and collapsed yet again. The fourteen year old girl is unable to live a normal life as pupils mock her. This is a desperate cry to the neighborhood as this serious issue needs to be addressed!
