Getting a hold of this lady was a mission but eventually we tracked her down.

Meet who her friends would call  ‘Barbie’ a nail technician and a make-up artist in her own right, who in her spare time makes ear-rings. LIVE sat down with Nondumiso to get the 411 on the profession she chose:

Live: Hi Nondumiso, so who are you?

Nondumiso: Ehmmm *giggles* I was born in Durban to a lovely woman called Tandiswa and Sqelo Gqogqa, grew up in Langa Cape Town, am 25 years of age and growing young and the rest pretty much needs my friends and family to come answer…

Live: How would you say your love for beauty came about?

Nondumiso: I’ve always loved working with people and getting up to date on what’s trending and such, so i met this lady during my bartending days who noticed my passion then she approached me to work in beauty. Mind you i didn’t study for this or anything of that sort but it sorta comes to me naturally so i gave it a go and today HERE I AM!!! making money out of what i love, it doesn’t even seem like a job at certain times . *side bar* (i sometimes find myself giving people makeovers for free)… but don’t put that in there.

Live: In every career path we choose there are bound to be challenges on the way to success, what would you consider as obstacles to what you do?

Nondumiso: This industry nowadays has a lot of competition and even though it is in demand it’s also hard to push your way through. Every street end has their own ‘nail technician’ or bo ‘Ms i know how to apply make-up’ and from my side not having a qualification of some sort people tend to look down on you or what you do but for me all of that is not a priority when i look at my clients face or hands after i’m done, that gives me that ‘yes im bauwss’ feeling *chuckles*. People are bound to talk or look at what you do in a negative way but sometimes that’s what gets me going.

Live: Long term goals?

Nondumiso: Omg!… ehmmm working behind the scenes in music videos or photo shoots and going back to school so i can get some few degrees under my belt, ohhh and becoming a fashion stylist one of these perfect days

Live: How does one get their face beaten by ‘barbs’ or a little manicure nyana here, pedicure nyana there?

Nondumiso: Funny enough I’ve been working from my mothers lounge area (pulls a serious face) BUT from end of april i’m moving into my own premises and that’s how good business is doing lol but otherwise my email address is : tndumi@ymail.com and my facebook is Nondumiso Tercia you can throw an inbox in there, i’m not a fan of social media so i don’t have a facebook page or twitter…

With a database of over 300 clients this lady is just getting it right in this world.. We see you!!!
