For the first time in my life I wake up looking forward to work. This is how I described my experience at Live to my friends and family, and I think they get it. You must understand, I’ve held many positions in my life, some more awesome than others. And even though I have loved writing from an early age studying journalism was never an option. I had other things in mind. So when I stepped into our offices on day-1, the unfamiliar faces were a tad intimidating. By the end of the first week though, I felt right at home.

I moved to Cape Town reluctantly from KZN (I’m so far from home) 4 years ago to study medicine at UCT. After experiencing some challenges I dropped out. I decided to stay in Cape Town so I could work on my music. The family was not pleased but here I am, a couple of years down the line… and everything makes sense now. The mentors are awesome, and the contributors are a bunch of impressive people. It’s a colourful environment to work in I’m still trying to think up a scheme that will allow me to stay longer than my internship allows, so watch this space.
