Rapper Rick Ross has come under much criticism over his  lyrics on the song  U.O.E.N.O. in which is believed to be condoning rape.”Put molly all in her champagne/she ain’t even know it/I took her home and I enjoyed that/she ain’t even know it,” he says on the track.

Hip hop heavyweight in Talib Kweli  called Ross a misguided 40-year old, further saying that Ross condoned rape in that song and that he should apologise. In his defence Ross said that the was a misunderstanding in the lyric,a misinterpretation and that the term rape was not used.

In a radio interview last week he said ” I would never use the term rape, you know, in my lyrics. And as far as my camp, hip hop don’t condone that, the streets don’t condone that, nobody condones that”.

Ultraviolet, a woman’s right organisation has started a petition and will hand it over to Reebok to call on the company to stop its endorsement deal with Ross.”He is rapping about rape and doesn’t even know it,which is shame because so many young man look up to him” said a spokesperson of the organisation.
