In the world of South African street dance, there are no B-Boy bloodlines or dance dynasties. Kings are made and crowns are earned…
The streets are a battlefield where every dance crew is fighting for their chance to be crowned ruler of all. No matter the history or style of choice, be it Freestyle, Hip-Hop or Krump, iSbhujwa or Pantsula. There is only one price pay to pay: sweat!
Red Bull Beat Battle brings this epic battle into the limelight and shows the country’s top talent laying it all on the line for their chance to be crowned. 2013 saw over 500 crews register for the various qualifier events held across the country.
After a gruelling process of elimination only 8 of the finest crews remain. The crews that will battle it out at the final at Walter Sisulu Square,Kliptown, Soweto are:
- 8one-Oh Meninas
- Ace
- Beauty and the Beasts
- Brooklyn
- Clinch
- I.D.A
- Via Volcano
- The Reptilez
Bboy Vouks remarked,”The level of dance we saw this year was insane! I definitely think crews took it seriously and it shows in the crews selected.”
Don’t expect scripted reality, fake celebrity judges or any second takes. This is real. This is Red Bull Beat Battle.
The beat will be dropped on June 1st at Walter Sisulu Square,Kliptown.
Be there!
