Could you briefly describe your music. Every single detail of my music is very honest and emotional.

How did you feel about being booked for the Back To The City (BTTC) Festival? I couldn’t help but see it as God giving me a wink of approval when I got that call. It’s no secret that BTTC is the biggest hip hop fest in the continent, so being booked for an event of its calibre is nothing but an absolute honour.

How do you feel about being one of the few, if not only, female MCs on the line up? This is a tricky one to answer in the sense that I don’t know how it’s ‘supposed’ to feel. I trust in the fact that there will be more female MCs gracing the BTTC stage and other big platforms  in years to come.

What is the state of local hip hop today? In my humble opinion, we are moving in a phenomenal direction. Hip hop artists are bolder and seem more serious about their craft now. They are also creating music that they believe in and love- not quick-buck bubblegum music. I, for one, appreciate this. South Africa as a whole seems to be appreciating this too since our hip hop artists are delivering quality music that we can relate to.

What are you hoping performing at the festival will do for your music career? I know for a fact that it will be instrumental in getting me closer to my ultimate goals. The vision was set a long time ago, now all I have to do is play my cards right. This performance couldn’t have come at a better time.

What should be expected from you this year? More of everything-I can’t reveal much yet. I will be releasing a couple of projects as the year progresses. All of those will be a build up to EP  titled Vinegar Lakes. There’ll be two major singles from Vinegar Lakes, so expect to hear me on high radio rotation soon. I also hope to have at least two official videos on media rotation before the end of the year. Beyond everything, I hope to build a good and solid relationship with my supporters. For now, however, you can find my 2013 singles Tell Me Something http://hu.lk/p6v8wn37reo0 and Vibes 21 http://hu.lk/7cw63htj2ccg
