Next week catch my, and fellow photographers Khabazela Mkhize and Khotso Tsaagane, review of Oppikoppi Festival.
This festival is on everyone’s lips. There are almost no rules or limits to where your imagination can go during the three days of freedom. I know I’m full of anticipation for this year’s festival which takes place from the 8 to 10 August.
Six stages featuring the dopest bands from the likes of Dirty Paraffin and the artistic m’rapper Reason to Soul Candi’s Dj Shimza. This year Oppikoppi promises to be bigger and better. THREE DAYS of going buckwild. I don’t think I’ll get much sleep till next Thursday.
I’m sure the tickets are selling like hot cakes, and if you’re not convinced check out the top quality line up here.
I can’t wait to see….
Dirty Paraffin
These guys never disappoint. Their live presence is on another level and I can’t wait to see them perform again. They’re Mzansi’s authentic duo. I’m gravitated towards their flamboyant tracks to their ‘smanje smanje kwaito primus stove’. They’re also performing at the next #FutureMusic series alongside Zaki Ibrahim. More details here.
Siya Makuzeni
She plays alongside the legendary Carlo Mombelli and the Prisoners of Strange. She is an all-rounder – trombone player, vocalist, lyricist and songwriter.
