These politicians ain’t loyal. On Monday the ANC (in their humble opinion) cleared President Jacob Zuma of any and all wrongdoing over the Nkandla scandal. They reckon he’s good for his word. Yup. He didn’t know nothing; he didn’t see nothing, so he won’t pay for nothing. Can’t tell him nothing.

After the public protector’s release of “Secure in Comfort” – the Nkandla report- two weeks ago, the ANC’s National Executive Council got together at the weekend to discuss all things good and true. Top of the list was the EU/AU summit, the party’s 20 year review, their election campaign, international relations, and according to Eye Witness News, the Nkandla report was “the shortest item on their list” of concerns. It seems things at the President Protea Hotel in Cape Town couldn’t have gone breezier for JZ and gang after ANC Secretary General Gwede Mantashe made a statement on Monday with a list of ministerial fall guys they believe are actually responsible for the upgrades, in a thinly veiled effort to absolve President Zuma of wrongdoing. Later in the day, on the campaign trail in Gugulethu, Cape Town, the number one citizen told ANN7: “They did this without telling me,” later continuing, “so why should I pay for something I did not ask for?”

Never far from the action, AgangSA went ape sh#t on Monday morning when they released meme upon meme in reaction to the latest twist in the Zuma debacle on Twitter. Now let’s hope they don’t delete the tweets and deny ever seeing a meme or Twitter in their lives. Good times. The run-up to Elections 2014 continues ladies, gentlemen. Keep your helmets and berets on.

NOTE: President Zuma is likely to make an official statement on Nkandla sooner or later. Stay with us.
