Upon meeting actor and comedian Siv Ngesi, he assured me “There’s no a question in the world you can’t ask me,” having been given free reign, I was at liberty to touch on any issue I could think of. I chose to focus on politics and Zoo biscuits.
Live: Your tweets often spark political debates. What goes through your mind while you’re constructing a tweet?
Siv Ngesi: Anything I say, I am as truthful to myself as possible. I had a man who went to jail for me for 27 years, therefore I can say whatever I like. I’ve never been on a mission to be liked, I have enough people who care about me. So if you don’t like me it’s your own fault. I get into a lot of trouble for my tweets. I say whatever the hell I like. This morning I wanted to tweet “Dear gay people, I’m behind you.” But I didn’t, because know you how you people think.
Live: Judging from your tweets, you are an ANC supporter. Am I right?
Siv: I hate Zuma’s ANC with a passion! That fuels my soul that burns a fire beneath my ass. I dislike Zuma’s ANC, the ANC is not what it used to be. On paper they are still the best party in the world. The ANC is like that guy who tells you “I love you baby, baby I love you” but then he goes and hits you. “But baby I love you.”
It’s not you ANC , it’s him!

Live: Why do you dislike Zuma?
Siv: The fundamentals of what I don’t like about Zuma is he goes against what Ubuntu is. What Zuma should do is turn Nkandla into an orphanage.
Live: If you were a leader for a term of four years, what would you focus on?
Siv: I’m sick and tired of children suffering. Children should not suffer. Kids being raped is just nonsense, it’s just appalling. That needs to stop. If you educate people, create jobs those kinds of things [rape] will be less. If you have a man working 9 to 5, the last thing he wants to do is go home and rape someone. But I’m not saying that people who work 9 to 5 don’t rape.
We all know , sadly that won’t happen “@clarencesdb: I pray the children of SA will be safe today.”

Live: Pick two politicians to be your parents.
Siv: Madiba and Steve Biko. I picked two men because these days two men can parent people. Steve Biko taught people to love themselves and that’s why he was killed. He wasn’t killed just because he was powerful. He was killed because he was preaching something uncontainable: the basics of loving yourself. And I chose Mandela because…it’s self-explanatory. He was just an incredible man. And I think Helen Zille is a feisty woman. She is a bulldog. But I think she has come 20 years too early. She often comes across as a madam.
Live: Do you think women in politics will ever be taken seriously?
Siv: Women in politics will never be taken seriously until they stop being women in politics. I blame that on women, you can’t selectively be a woman. You shouldn’t be women, you should be a politician and Helen Zille is a politician.
Live: If you were a biscuit, what kind would you be?
Siv: I would be a Zoo biscuit – I’m sweet and unhealthy but God am I good.
Live: Unhealthy? I thought you were fit. Not that I’ve been checking you out…
Siv: Stop fronting, you’ve been checking me out. Girls like to act like I don’t have a body, you should Google my pictures. I’ve been told that I should donate my abs to rural Africa so they could wash their clothing.
Live: Back to Zoo biscuits. I’ve never tasted them before. What do they taste like?
Siv: They don’t taste like Apartheid! Marie? now that tastes like apartheid.
Now following @MyANC_! I think they should block me now, because shit is going to get real!
