If you had to compare alcohol with Dragon Ball Z, tequila would be the “super saiyan” of alcohol sqaud. The Dirty Rotten Tequila Festival is back for round two, promising even more fun than last year! The festival, that celebrates the Mexican beverage will be taking place on the 1st of May at Carfax, Newtown, from 12:00pm to 03:00am.
There will be more than twenty samples of the killer potion from eight different brands worldwide, these people take their drink very seriously! There will be drinking games and a mechanical bull (no, seriously) and a photo booth to capture your tequila infused face.
Nothing makes a festival as good as food, and there’s plenty of it at Dirty Rotten Tequila, Mexican, Greek and South African offerings. You will be able to chow down at the many food-stalls on the night.
We all know tequila can bring out the best (or worst) dance moves, there will be a “Let’s Swing It Dancefloor” with performances by Plaat Japie, The Stage Pig, Michael Lesar’s and Greg Georgiades. You can truly bring out your true Napoleon Dynamite meets Beyonce dance moves. If you’re a little more frisky there will be a live burlesque performance by Miss Oh.
Most importantly there will be some of South Africa’s top rock acts the line- up includes: Blazin Gooch, Coelacanth, Full Swing Band, Go Barefoot, New Academics, Sol Gems, The Black Cat Bones and The Ts & Cs.
Be sure to make your way to the festival, limited early bird tickets are R100, and standard tickets are R150. You can buy tickets here, or you can also get a tickets at the doors!
