According to time.com, fathers in Iceland get 90 days paternity leave, while dads in Finland and Burkina Faso get 54 and 10 days respectively.

We recently wrote about the Labour Laws Amendment Bill and found out what young people think of South African fathers getting 10 days paternity leave if the Bill is passed.  

The Bill states that an employee may take parental leave on the day that the child is born or on the day the adoption order is granted.

According to the Department of Labour, pregnant mothers may take up to four months leave starting one month before her due date. The mother also has the right to claim from the Unemployment Insurance Fund while on maternity leave.

In this video, we spoke to a 25-year-old single mother of two, a 26 year old father-to-be and a parent-infant psychotherapist to hear what they have to say about paternity leave.
