As the weekend inches closer, so does the anticipation for the “Keep The Promise” free concert and march to be held 16 July at Durban’s Sahara Stadium Kingsmead, hosted by the Aids Healthcare Foundation (AHF). Everyone is bubbling with excitement to see Queen Latifah, Common and Mi Casa come together on stage for the greater good.

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness around HIV/AIDS prevention and care. #KTP2016 is focused on the need for a big scale-up of Aids funding and calls on governments, global funding bodies and individuals to commit to ending the epidemic.

The AHF is the biggest non-profit HIV/AIDS organisation in the world. It provides medicine to more than 600 000 patients worldwide. One of them is 15-year-old Nokulunga Hlengwe, a courageous young girl who continues the fight against HIV/AIDS. Living proof that you can live a healthy life even if you’re HIV positive, Noklunga would like to be an ambassador for change.
“Ithemba Labantu saved my life and will save other people’s lives. It gave me life and it still does. There is love from the social workers, nurses and counsellors,” she said when asked why it’s important for people to continue to donate to the foundation.

So set the date and join the Aids Healthcare Foundation this Saturday 16 July in downtown Durban to call on world leaders to Keep the Promise to fund HIV interventions.
