Red October, ladies and gentlemen.
South Africa’s crime statistics are – for everybody living in the country – disturbing. Horrifying, even. Myself a victim of crime in 2007 when held at gun-point while with my mother , I understand clearly that it’s a social ill that affects the majority of the population and will likely take a strong effort from all or most of the 50 odd million people living here to “provide a safe environment for all,” like that ol’ textbook, the Constitution, imagines.
Apparently, that “FOR ALL” bit doesn’t quite do it for some. Members of Red October, a campaign which I imagine could have started as a drunken joke when Steve Hofmeyer had a dop & a chop with his cousins and uncle in February, marched to the Union Buildings today in protest against what they believe is the government’s oppression and genocide of white people. They will then release red balloons into the air to show how serious they are. Yup, we find the humour in it too.
So, as befitting such a comical farce, we have taken the time to respond to the organization’s press release – with memes.
Enjoy.
…….
These are original statements taken from the organization’s press release on its website.
On 10 October 2013 the people of South Africa will stage marches and gatherings across South Africa and the World to let everyone know that we have had ENOUGH!
We are tired of corrupt governance, racist Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment and Affirmative Action, not only excluding white South Africans from the job market but also making it impossible for businesses and companies to make contributions to the thousands of white people living in squatter camps or our children in orphanages.
People all over the World will release RED Balloons into the skies in protest against the inhumane Slaughter and Oppression of the White Ethnic Minority of South Africa, on October 10, 2013!
This needs to stop and can no longer be ignored!
Seriously….
Boom! I’m out.
