Afro-pop duo, Blaq Diamond, has recently released the official music video for their new track titled “Ibhanoyi”. The song, which was number one on iTunes last week in South Africa, is a soulful piece about two male friends who find joy in working to show their love for their partners.

In a culture where gift giving is often exaggerated and overblown into stereotypes of women being gold diggers and where men are celebrated for being hypermasculine and detached from love, “Ibhanoyi” is definitely refreshing.

The video is set in rural South Africa and shows the two couples grow as children with big dreams into adults who fulfil those dreams of love in the city.
