6pm to 6.45pm Business in the Digital Age
A discussion on “Business in the digital age” touching on how digital has changed the way business is done today; digital marketing strategies; how creative entrepreneurs are adapting to the migration to digital; digital solutions to business challenges; and the importance of branding in the digital age. Speakers include Between 10 and 5 founder Uno de Waal, Flux Trends’ Nicola Cooper, Creative Nestlings co-founder Dillion Phiri (ZA), actor and partnership marketing manager Libby Curley (UK) and artist Gareth Owen Lloyd (UK).
7pm to 7.45pm: Business of Fashion
Join fashion designers and entrepreneurs Jamal Nxedlana, Eseoghene Odiete, Milisuthando Bongela aka Miss Milli B (facilitator) , Jacques van der Watt and Kazim Kazim Kazim for a discussion on the “Business of Fashion”. Our panel of experts will explore and debate on what the essence of ZA fashion is; definitions and the reality of being a fashion entrepreneur; distribution of ZA fashion labels; the similarities and differences in the fashion industry across the globe – namely UK, Nigeria and ZA; and finally how fashion designers can accelerate efficient business practice.
8pm to 8.45pm: Music Promotion
Join music promoter and Weheartbeat founders Dominique Soma and Sims Phakisi, MC Bhubesii, DJ Spoko, the UK’s Kazim Kazim Kazim and Accra[dot]Alt co-founder Sionne Neely (Ghana) for a discussion on music promotion today. Topics on the agenda will be new marketing strategies for music; music entrepreneurship; opportunities and threats of digital; and emerging DIY business models.
