Filmmaking has made its transition from being the result of family holidays to tackling major social issues in communities. Not enough credit is given to filmmakers and the significant impact they have on everyday lives. Live’s YouTube team has gone into the life of a Street Talk filmmaker and compiled a video clip. Produced by the townships of Cape Town, Thembela Dick (AKA Terra), joined the Street Talk team in 2009 as a researcher and has since developed into a filmmaker.

With the abundance of stories available in township life and the many issues that arise and constantly affect those living in townships, deciding which stories to pursue is a challenge for her. She emphasizes that the main aim of creating videos should be to educate and inform people. Her original dream of becoming a journalist therefore aids her quest to produce films. The brief profile of Terra follows her path into the industry and discovers her future aspirations. The close-up clip was put together nicely by the YouTube team.
