Introducing the Chefs on Blades, a team of four young guys from Protea North – Vusi Mkhabela, Gaopalelwe ‘Top Chef’ Makhudu, Ofentse Molefe and Gosiame Letlhaku. Their name is a play on words around mobile catering and knife blades.

The all-male Soweto-based catering outfit started with pop-up stalls at house sessions in Soweto selling boerewors rolls, with a Chefs on Blades twist, putting blends of their own home-made sauces and Chakalaka in the rolls.

What’s great about their food is that they cook with as little oil as possible and they replace salt with herbs and spices.

They are popular for their mini burgers and chips platters, with lettuce and onion strips.
