We got the chance to style and shoot for Mr Price’s (MRP) STREET range. STREET fashion means to me: freedom of expression, freedom of movement and freedom of influence.
STREET fashion got its popularity in the 70’s against the backdrop of a couture class system with snobbery undertones. Young people didn’t relate giving way to rebellious fashion with street influence. South African fashion in the late 80’s brought a new wave of attitude among young folks! IsPantsula was that trend. It encompassed a certain dressing coordination among crew members with impressive dance moves that showed off their looks. Since then there have been a lot of trends that have excited young South Africans to try on, all influenced by the STREET!
MRP’s latest STREET range screams comfort, easy dressing and realism with strong, impressive sports luxe undertones that give out urban minimal vibes with an edge. When folks don the range, their stylish being will identify and be at one with the range’s mantra “We came alive in this city. The people, the pace and the chaos.”
Wearing STREET range, confidence will be your weapon of choice, it will encourage you to conquer your city’s ups and downs while looking super awesome with a beautiful panache.
Inspired by streetwear and street culture around the globe, the range can also be hyped up with the use of statement accessories and allow you to experiment with it, giving it your own personal identity. Also with its simple silhouettes, the look can be up-styled by layering shirts and active sweaters or accessorizing with beanies and backpacks. The range is versatile, its fun and can cater for any occasion because of its flexibility.
For guys, oversized t-shirts, hoodies, fleece shorts and joggers are the wardrobe winners while the ladies collection features printed leggings, mesh skirts, slouchy tees and body-con matchy sets. Once you go STREET then you ready for a day of city exploring.
