When you wake up in the morning and you look into the mirror, what do you think about? Do you worry about acne, oily skin and feel frustrated? Well worry no more!
When you look good, you feel good. It is essential to look after yourself by drinking lots of water and eating the correct food, such as fruits and vegetables. There are lots of ways in which you can look after your skin. Homemade facial masks and scrubs are amazing. The great thing about them is that you don’t have to spend too much money. So if you can’t go to a spa, create your own spa at home and prepare to spoil yourself.
I took a tour around 70 Juta Street in Braamfontein and I asked a few ladies about their top beauty secrets. I was shocked! Some of the things they told me were really informative, for example I found out that if you want to reduce swelling around your eye area, you can place teabags onto your eyes. Interesting right? So here is a list of ingredients you can use to create your own special facial masks.
Having trouble with acne?
Take two tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda mixed with three drops of lemon juice.Mix these two ingredients until a paste is formed. Apply the paste to your face. Leave it on for 10 minutes then wash it off.
This is great for people who struggle with acne.
Cleanse and tighten your pores
Take one egg and beat it in a bowl. With cotton wool preferably pads dab onto your skin allowing it to dry. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes then wash it off with warm water. The egg yolk is great for opening up your pores and the egg white will tighten up your skin. Your skin will feel refreshed.
Want great hair?
Mayonnaise does wonders for the hair. It moisturises and leaves your hair feeling soft and silky. Take three tablespoons of mayonnaise and apply it onto your hair, making sure that every strand gets a little creamy goodness. Leave it on for 30 minutes then wash it off with clean water. You will notice that your hair will look shiny and beautiful.
Coffee and sugar body scrub
Take ½ a cup of sugar (preferably brown) and a ¼ cup of instant coffee. Mix these ingredients well in a small jar. Scrub this mixture onto your body. These ingredients are great because coffee is an antioxidant and sugar works as an exfoliator.
Soft Feet
If you have dry feet and cracked heels, take a generous amount of Vaseline and rub onto your feet, then take a packet of plastic and cover it around your feet. Leave it on for the whole night. When you wake up in the morning remove the plastic bags and your feet will feel so smooth.
So there you go ladies (and gents if you’re interested), simple facial masks to leave you feeling absolutely gorgeous. Enjoy!
