Businessman Kenny Kunene has written an open letter to President Jacob Zuma, which The Star has published on Friday 21 June. In the letter the Sushi king stated that the ANC is no longer the party of illustrious leaders like Oliver Tambo.

Kunene said “in public you smile and laugh but in truth you behave like a monster, a tyrant who will target perceived enemies ruthlessly and because of that fear few dare to speak openly”.

He further stated that he was writing this letter because he has never been more disapponted with ANC. Refencing the farily tale The Emperor’s new clothes,  Kunene said “I dont want to be one of those who tell you in fear that you have clothes on, when it’s obvious you are completely exposed”

Kunene highlighted  Zuma’s relationship with the Gupta family, the recent wedding scandal and controversy surrounding Zuma’s lavish household at Nkandla, which he states deterrated the presidents credibility.

Kunene defended his own lavish lifestyle on the other hand, saying that the money he spent is not taxpayer money.

He also said many people within the ANC are “terrified” to speak out against Zuma because they fear him.

“I love the ANC or what its supposed to be but I dont love your ANC” he wrote “for those of us who care the question now is as Vladimir Lenin asked: what is to be done?” He concluded.
