How does the voice of youth throw a launch party? In style of course. Fluorescent lights, cameras flashing away at our street-style photo-shoot booth, drop-dead gorgeous models, finger food to set any taste bud alight and not forgetting the super-funky fashion, all at the young people’s convention otherwise known as ‘See You Next Wednesday’ at Assembly set the scene for the launch of the youth’s mouth-piece, LIVE Magazine SA.

Our guests arrived, with some having dressed up for the occasion while others opted for comfort, either way the outfits only coincided with our ‘be funky and fashionable’ theme.  They were met by the dazzling smiles of our team members who distributed detailed press-packs outlining what LIVE Mag is about, sandwiched inside a copy of our current issue of course. Guests were treated to amazing performances by the awesome a cappella, award-winning group Muziek Sensation and local Dj Dilou-Exclusiv, while they nibbled on yummy treats arranged so decadently on mouth-watering platters. A great ambience ensued as guests networked, socialised, and some even had the courage to brace the dance floor as youthful music echoed throughout Assembly.

Our YouTube team prepared a presentation, giving all the attendees an insight into the behind-the scenes situations at our LIVE Mag headquarters, which was followed by speeches. One from our publisher, Gavin Weale who took us through how LIVE Mag started, another from our out-going Editor Ndu Ngcobo, and the last one coming from our greatest export into 140 BBDO, Mawande Manez Sobethwa. With the formalities out of the way, the Ninja Turtles treated us to an exclusive break-dancing performance. They wowed our hypnotised crowd with moves that could make any forehead moistened with sweat and cause any heart-beat to rapidly increase.

That concluded the night’s performances and guests soon seized the opportunity to serenade the dance floor once more. Against the background of our flickering cameras, under the neon lights they laughed, danced, indulged in conversations as new friendships and business partners were made.
