I had an awesome week at Live because the workshop phase was over, and the atmosphere was more relaxed. Starting off the week, we had a meeting with the whole team, and during this meeting an open discussion started about the recent Marikana massacre. For me, it was amazing to see how these young people at Live think. Their opinions are so powerfu;l making you wonder what South Africa would be like if all the youth in it thought the same way. We started pitching features and this was very exciting for me because I was going to be learning and working with other people.

At Talk Thursday, we had Osiame Molefe giving us some input on how to work around our stories, being open-minded when writing a story, and using all the resources you have to improve your story. The editorial positions were announced meaning that the real work was about to start. My favourite and most amazing day of the week was Friday when the whole team went out for lunch to celebrate a YouTube achievement and to welcome all the new people. We had such a great time socializing, and getting to know each other better. The next day was Gavin’s birthday (one of the founders of Live magazine) so we had a little jam session and sang Happy Birthday. When asked how old he was he said 25 with a funny, yet guilty face. It was an awesome week at Live indeed. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
