Beyonce Knowles and Andre 3000 are re-united for their second collaboration after the hit ‘Party Remix’ on Beyonce’s previous album ‘4’.
But it seems that this time around, they won’t be collaborating to their own material. E! Online has exclusively reported that the two will join forces to cover the late, great Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back to Black’, the title track to her sophomore album.
A spokesperson from Interscope Records had this to say about the collaboration:
‘Beyonce is going to do a great job covering an Amy Winehouse hit. It’s a very different take on ‘Back to Black.’
The track, said to be produced by Jay-Z and will feature on the original motion picture soundtrack for Baz Luhrman’s (film director of films such as Moulin Rouge and Romeo and Juliet) upcoming remake of the Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire.
I love Beyonce (as much as the next person) and I might be in love with Andre 3000 (who’ knows…) but I’m skeptical of the ‘new’ rendition of such a legendary artist such as Amy Winehouse but Beyonce has done it before with Ms Etta James, she might just prove me wrong. What are your thoughts?
