WOW, The JHB Mad Decent Block Party was INSANE! Credit should be given to all the performers, twerkers and the crowd in general for being very alive!
It is then safe to say that Mad Decent Block Party all managed to #SwitchOnTheNight!
The night was made! With four international DJ acts, four local DJ acts, Diplo hamster ball and a whole lot of twerking: Olmeca Tequila and Mad Decent got the crowd roaring.
International DJ acts were Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, Flosstradamus and Paul Devro who brought the legendary Mad Decent Block Party to South African shores for the first time.
“Joburg! You were the first official Mad Decent Block Party to happen outside of America and you gave it horns last night!” Mad Decent Block Party admitted on their facebook page.
Supported by locals DJs like Das Kapital and Sibot & Toyota, the Mad Decent Block Party took place at a rad urban location at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown.
The Mad Decent Block Party concept was started by Wesley Pentz ( Diplo) in Philadelphia in 2008 with one small street party and ever since the parties have gone to over 13 cities. Joburg and Cape Town couldn’t have been better locations to choose and South Africans are already asking when the next Mad Decent Block Party will be.
