Matthew Mole made music history this week by becoming the first local artist to enter the iTunes album chart at No1 – with his début album The Home We Built. The singer/songwriter from Fish Hoek beat off tough competition from international superstars like Jay Z, The Rolling Stones, Robin Thicke and local producer DJ Kent. The album was produced by Matthew Fink(Shadowclub, Tailor, Nakhane Toure).

Mole told Times Live, ''It was such an amazing thing to see the album at No1, on the morning of its release''. Karl Anderson, owner of Just Music label-Mole's record label, was excited that itunes is changing the face of South African music industry. ''It's an exciting time as itunes has changed the face of South African music industry and given independent labels as well artists direct access to their fans''.
According to Times Live, Mole’s debut album The Home We Built is already attracting keen international interest on allsides of the Atlantic where he has already been chosen as Record Of The Day in the UK and A&R World wide’s Artist Of The Week in the US.
Mole has broken through into the South African music industry and made world wide history, I am sure his debut album The Home We Built will sell many copies. For a 21 year old guy from Fish Hoek, his making Cape Town and whole of South Africa proud.
