MTV Base VJ and Cashtime Life rapper Nomuzi “Moozle” Mabena shares a list of her five favourite albums of all time and why she likes them.

Kanye West – 808s & Heartbreak808s_&_Heartbreak

“This is just one album I can’t get enough of. What I like about it is that Kanye West used minimalistic beats to create an emotional haunting sound. He tackled deep topics in every track and I relate to each one. This album is one of those albums I just listen to right through, without skipping a track.”

Jay Z – Magna Carta Holy Grailjayz

“I’m a big fan of Jay Z and have always loved his albums but I give all the credits to this one.  It demonstrates his extraordinary talent as a pure freestyle rapper. What  I love about the album’s tracks is that they preach a subtle message.”

K.O – Skhanda RepublicKO

“Let me begin by saying that the production on this album is on point. It’s one that I can listen to anytime of the day. Lyrically K.O may not be the best, but I love the fact that he holds his own [on] tracks on the album. I like his delivery too. He trusts his guts when it comes to rapping, and that’s a positive.”

Khuli Chana – The MotswakOriginator

“I like how, on this album, the history of motswako intertwines with Khuli Chana. It chronicles how he became its poster boy. Which makes it more interesting to listen to these songs.”

AKA – LevelsAKA_Levels

“AKA has indeed shown that there’s levels to this rap thing. I give him all the credit when it comes to lyrics and rhyming. He has a cool demeanour and flashy lyrics. Honestly, he’s one of my favourite rappers. What caught my attention about this album is his confidence.”
