Time flies, things change and life goes on.

I think so much passes us by and we don’t stop to take a breather to celebrate the potential and beauty that is within the next generation of South African citizens. Personally, I found it great that young children accompanied their parents, brothers, sisters and grandparents to the voting stations. The children looked very excited and curious at the same time,  this made me reflect on my own experiences.

The objective of “Portraits of the Future” was to capture portraits of children and parents who were waiting in line to cast their vote as well as to capture the atmosphere of the locations. It was quiet refreshing to see South Africans young and old exercising their democratic right and taking cognisance of the importance their vote has in decision making which will subsequently influence the future of the country.
