Shakira’s ex-boyfriend, Antonio de la Rua, has filed a lawsuit against the pop superstar in compensation for management of her career. The son of former Argentine President, Fernando de la Rua, has demanded she pay him $100-million (about R886-million).

According to a source, de la Rua attempted to talk to Shakira about the amount that he is owed, but the singer refused. Reid, de la Rua’s lawyer, said on Monday that his client was not keen on going ahead with the lawsuit, but had no choice. The lawsuit was filed on November 20.

de la Rua and Shakira dated for over a decade, and split in 2010. The Colombian singer is currently in a relationship with Spanish footballer, Gerard Pique, and announced in September 2012 that she is pregnant with both her and Pique’s first child.
