I interviewed the contestants of the Sprite Competition. MC’s Hydrochloric and ABY FAB. The questions I asked the MC finalists:
Live Magazine:
How are you feeling? Are you nervous?
Hydrochloric: Yeah. I have mixed feelings, being nervous and excited.
ABY FAB: I’m human, so yes I am nervous and excited. Its a big opportunity.
Live Magazine:
What has this journey been like for you?
Hydrochloric: It’s been a very good journey. I’m getting exposed and I get to meet an idol, Talib Kweli.

ABY FAB: When I was chosen for the top 18, I was shocked. I had forgotten about the competition. But it’ s been a learning experience.
Live Magazine:
Have you always dreamed of being a MC?
Hydrochloric: Yeah- like ever since high school. Its nice to do what you love.
ABY FAB: Yeah – I’ve been rapping since 13. It became serious in 2006, when I heard my track on the radio.
Live Magazine:
What is the highlight of the Sprite competition?

Hydrochloric: Performing at Moyo’s roof top and being in the finals.
ABY FAB: The fact that you get to share a stage with Talib Kweli the rapper, being mentored by him and going to New York.
Live Magazine:
What are your plans after the show should you be unsuccessful? And what inspiring message can you give to other young aspiring MC’s?
Hydrochloric: Check out Johannesburg because I’ve never been here before. Carry on doing what you love.
ABY FAB: Life goes on. I’m gonna milk it. Two things: Impossible is nothing and if you turn it around, nothing is impossible.
If you can dream it. You can believe it. You can achieve it!
