Do you want to be a part of shifting the political agenda? Do you want to make your mark in the South African political landscape? VIP is looking for you!

We’re recruiting now for VIP contributors to join our Johannesburg and Cape Town teams in August 2015. Applications are open to 18 to 25 year-olds with a strong interest/passion for politics and journalistic skills/background. VIP ZA is looking for two writers (with possible social media or video/photography skills) to join our VIP team in Cape Town and another two in Johannesburg for an exciting six-month training programme. You will not only gain on-the-job training by producing politically-themed content for VIP but you will also be given an opportunity to network with some of the industry’s best.

Requirements:

A qualification in journalism or media studies

A body of work that demonstrates your ability and interest in politics

In 2014, Live SA began the VIP journey with a view to un-mangling the nuances of the national elections for a young audience. In 2015, the riveting success of the campaign has forced us to reimagine the scope – we know it extends far beyond the vote. And we know that young people want a seat at the highest levels of political power to ensure accountability and transparency – on their own terms.
