The multi-dimensional group of twenty-something year olds found their different backgrounds the departure point for their debut album, which finds a balance between house, soul, jazz, pop and gospel. Muzart’s single “jukebox” has proven a relevant rhythmic soul jam, when consecutively holding the first place in multiple YFM charts.

The producing duo, that is Tazzy and Vic, serve as a vital limb for the five-piece band who met at church. Their shared musical aspirations meant they hit it off and soon started making music at a student commune, without initial intentions of starting a band. While working towards creating a music production team they decided to look for an ambassador and soon met Rori. Within 24hours Sol was introduced to the creative team while intertwined friendships inspired another member (Jabu Junior) to sync musical aspirations with the established group.

While talking to four members of the band, their individual talents and roles were often highlighted. Each member is from a different part of Gauteng and play a different role in the band’s overall production; be it playing the guitar, performing or networking.  It is this matured collaboration that has taken the group from acquainted creatives to being invited to perform at a gig for Dineo Ranaka and realising the potential of a band. Muzart is due to release their album in the United Kingdom and their intention to create music that is genuine to our country’s diverse influences, has set them on a journey accented with the potential of timeless music.
